About the event 

The Inspiring Girls Careers Forum is a unique careers event designed to showcase the resources industry to female secondary school students (Years 10–12) and inspire them to follow in the footsteps of women successful women in the resources sector. 

Held annually at Optus Stadium, the forum brings together around 200 students and 25-30 teachers for a day of discovery. With inspiring guest speakers, hands-on activities and opportunities to connect with industry professionals, students gain valuable insights into the diverse careers available in resources — whether through university or vocational pathways. 

The forum is coordinated by CME and proudly supported by organisations across the WA resources sector. Thanks to their sponsorship, the event is free for students and teachers to attend. 

For companies 

The Inspiring Girls Careers Forum is an opportunity for companies to highlight their role in the sector and encourage more young women to see a future for themselves in resources. By taking part, your organisation can share the success stories of your female workforce, build valuable connections with schools, and support a stronger, more diverse industry pipeline. 

Sponsorship package includes: 

  • A dedicated table of eight, made up of: 
  • Two representatives from your company 
  • Up to five students and one teacher from a WA school 
  • An exhibition booth, to promote your company and distribute branded materials to students. 
  • Participation in a speed careering session, directly engaging with students. 
  • Morning tea for all attendees. 

For schools 

The Inspiring Girls Careers Forum is a free event that gives female students in Years 10–12 a first-hand look at the exciting careers available in the resources industry. With inspiring speakers, engaging activities, and opportunities to build networks with potential mentors and employers, the forum encourages students to explore subjects and pathways they might not have considered before. 

During the forum, students will: 

  • Hear from two inspiring female industry guest speakers who will share their career journeys. 
  • Participate in a fun, hands-on activity related to the resources sector, facilitated by Australian Earth Science Education. 
  • Take part in a speed careering session, meeting professionals from a range of companies. 
  • Interact with industry representatives and ask questions about study and work options. 

Table allocations 

Each table hosts five students, one teacher and two industry representatives. Schools can book up to two tables (the second table can accommodate six students with only one accompanying teacher required).
