In early September CME hosted the Goldfields 2021 Women in Resources Sundowner in Kalgoorlie. This wonderful event was sponsored by AngloGold Ashanti, with around 80 people from the mining and resources sector in attendance.
The sundowner celebrated and highlighted the contribution of women to the mining sector in the Goldfields and guests were treated to two excellent presentations – from Rebecca Prain, Managing Director, Cube Consulting (our 2021 Women In Resources Awards Champion winner) and Cailli Knievel, Manager, Underground LOM Planning, AngloGold Ashanti. Both Rebecca and Cailli spoke passionately about their careers and global adventures.
Such was the importance of this event, many attendees travelled from Perth and the Northern Goldfields. CME sincerely thanks Rebecca and Cailli for their time, and also thanks AngloGold Ashanti for supporting the event.

G E Business Register
Meanwhile, the G E Business Register itself continues to grow and now has more than 450 businesses registered. The platform allows local businesses the opportunity to improve their visibility to suppliers and purchasers and to register as a supplier to the mining industry, and showcase their skills and capabilities to mining companies.
The Kalgoorlie Boulder Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KBCCI) is the dedicated resource looking after the Register and will help Goldfields businesses sign up and answer any of their questions.
