April 2021 has been another busy month for the Goldfields, starting with Easter and finishing with Anzac Day. Thankfully, regions of WA outside of Port and Peel were permitted to attend the Anzac Day services, and people flocked to the Kalgoorlie and Boulder services. This year CME attended the Kalgoorlie Anzac Day dawn service and laid a wreath to commemorate and celebrate the men and women who have served our nation in all wars, conflicts, and peacekeeping operations.
The Goldfields region has a rich tradition in serving the Australian Defence forces. Throughout history thousands of people from the Goldfields have volunteered and served in Australia’s armed forces. More than 4100 men from the Kalgoorlie-Boulder region alone served in World War I and sadly many of them did not return home. Lest We Forget.
On a completely different note, the G E Business Register is rapidly growing and more than 220 businesses have already registered. These registered businesses are benefiting every day, enjoying the increased visibility and extra work. The platform allows local businesses the opportunity to improve their visibility to suppliers and purchasers and also to register as a supplier to the mining industry, and showcase their skills and capabilities to mining companies.
The Kalgoorlie Boulder Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KBCCI) is the dedicated resource looking after the Register, and will help Goldfields businesses sign up and answer any of their questions. Contact Sharon Henderson at the KBCCI at hello@gebusinessregister.com.au if you have any queries.
