CME’s Manager of Resource Development and Sustainability, Roannah Wade, and Senior Policy Adviser Environment and Sustainability, Anita Logiudice, both had the opportunity last week to attend the Net Zero Emission Mining WA Conference.
Held over two days at the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre, the conference was well-attended by a broad cross-section of CME members and focused on key decarbonisation challenges and opportunities being tackled across the WA mining and resources sector. It was pleasing to see a number of CME companies not only attending but featuring on the speaker lists, which strongly demonstrates how industry is at the forefront of the cutting edge work being done to reduce the emissions-profiles of operations.
Another takeaway from the conference was how a wide range of stakeholders of all shapes and sizes need to be working together on shared goals related to decarbonisation.
CME thanks the Minerals Research Institute of WA and the WA Government for the work they’ve done in establishing and building the Net Zero Emission Mining WA Conference, an event which should be on our sector’s calendar well into the future.
