The North West COVID-19 Community Response Working Group continues to meet to discuss community support for the Pilbara and Kimberley regions as infections rise. The meetings also provided an opportunity for the WA Country Health Service – Pilbara and the WA Police Pilbara District to provide a situational update to industry in relation to COVID-19 response and actions.
CME Regional Manager Susan Cull and North West Regional Officer Megan Brouwer recently travelled to Onslow to meet with members and local stakeholders, including Chevron, Port of Beadon Creek (POBC) and the Onslow Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Susan and Megan had a site tour of the POBC to view the infrastructure and hear about the future plan for this operation, which includes a focus on carbon neutrality by 2022.
Megan has been travelling across the region to meet with members and attend various events, including the Karratha and Districts Chamber and Commerce and Industry International Women’s Day Luncheon held at the Red Earth Arts Precinct.
The Pilbara Regional Council will meet on Thursday March 17. There will be a focus at this meeting on the increasing juvenile crime in the region and the impact this is having on industry and the broader community.
