Roy Hill hosted CME and Lifeline WA this month as part of the Resourceful Mind pilot program. The visit included a tour of the site and village facilities, led by individuals who were participating in the pilot (Minders). The tour provided the Resourceful Mind project team with insights as to how the program was being rolled out in Roy Hill, alongside a range of other initiatives to support the mental health and wellbeing of their workforce.
Resourceful Mind is an industry-specific peer support program for the workplace that involves Lifeline’s Telephone Crisis Supporters training resources sector workers. The program has been co-developed by Lifeline and CME after extensive consultation with industry, and builds on Lifeline’s experience in training everyday people to support others. The initiative fosters mentally healthy workplaces and builds on Lifeline’s experience in training everyday people to support others. The sector’s support for the Resourceful Mind pilot is evidence of its commitment to continuous improvement and evidence-based practices in the mental health and wellbeing of its workforce. The six-month pilot program is being trialled across four WA resources operations for pilot partners Roy Hill Holdings, Mineral Resources, Simcoa, and Woodside Energy.

Safe Work Month – DMIRS
WA’s 2021 Safe Work Month will include a variety of virtual events throughout October. The theme for 2021 is “Make a difference – speak up about health and safety”. The theme acts as a reminder that we all have the responsibility to look out for one another.
The virtual events will include on-demand videos with a focus on health and safety for both the mining industry and general workplaces. There will be a significant spotlight on the implementation of Western Australia’s Work Health and Safety Act 2020 with an additional nine on-demand videos and the below eight live webinars:
