RITC helping stakeholders become hydrogen aware

In collaboration with the Resources Industry Training Council (RITC), Integrated Energy recently facilitated Hydrogen Awareness Training at the CME offices.

The introductory training course was held on October 5, aimed at training and development specialists, government policy developers, union representatives, course program directors, career advisers and industry participants with no or little knowledge of hydrogen technologies, opportunities, and workforce implications. It outlined safe and efficient decision-making and operation of hydrogen plants, infrastructure and applicable national and international codes and standards for hydrogen technologies, business, and workforce implications.

The half-day course provided practical demonstrations of hydrogen technology, virtual reality experiences, and a fun quiz at the end, and was facilitated by David Cavanagh (Managing Director of Integrated Energy) and Monica Deoghare (Principal Technology Consultant of Integrated Energy).

There was a range of positive feedback from participants, including “Such an interesting and informative session by David Cavanagh. Thanks for sharing your wisdom on hydrogen with us” and “David Cavanagh provided a range of information that was interesting and relevant. So glad I attended.”

The day was coincidentally booked close to Hydrogen Day. Established in Australia in 2019, the date of October 8, refers to the atomic weight of Hydrogen (10.08) in the American date format.

Australia, with its abundance of sunshine and wind, can harness those elements to create hydrogen-rich fuels that are clean and efficient. Hydrogen that is locally produced using green energy technology could transform Australia’s current carbon-intensive resource sector.

Hydrogen has the potential to play a fundamental role in the reduction or total elimination of vehicle emissions in cities and in rural areas, by powering trucks that are continually travelling vast distances across Australia.

The Resources Industry Training Council has two other Hydrogen Awareness Training sessions booked:
