The annual CME Women In Resources Awards was again a huge success, with a crowd of nearly 1000 people on hand at the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre to see the 2022 winners crowned.
The much-anticipated event recognised the value gender diversity brings to the WA mining and resources sector and attracted attendees from a wide range of CME member companies – fitting, given the broad cross-section of roles, experience and backgrounds represented by the finalists and winners.
Tianqui Lithium Superintendent – Process, Kathy Lewi, was recognised as the Outstanding Woman In Resources, while Elle Farris, Corporate Counsel at Newmont Australia, was announced as the Outstanding Young Woman in Resources.
Madeline Deppeler, Lead Terminal Technician with Shell Australia, was the winner of the Outstanding Operator/Technician/Trade category, while BHP Mining Systems West Engineer, Kim Tan, received the Technical Innovation Award.
Marie Bourgoin, BHP’s Vice President of Warehousing Inventory and Logistics, took home the Women In Resources Champion Award, while Sravani Mukkisa – Program Manager at RIG Technologies International – was named the People’s Choice winner for 2022.
CME is very grateful for all those who took the opportunity to attend this important night and also the sponsors who helped make it possible. We’d also like to thank the member companies who continue to support WIRA and congratulate not only our winners but all of the finalists.
As the photos on the WIRA website and below attest, it was an extremely enjoyable evening!
