During September, CME hosted a Women in Resources Sundowner event in Karratha. Sponsored by Woodside, the event provided an opportunity for women working in the sector to come together, network, and hear from some inspirational leaders. CME’s CEO Rebecca Tomkinson attended the event and provided her first official CME speech. It was great to have such a strong turnout from our members and to see all attendees mingling and enjoying themselves. Special thanks to Woodside’s Shanine Ryan and Yvonne Poor for sharing their advice and experiences with the attendees.
CME’s North West Regional Officer Megan Brouwer travelled to Perth in September for training and to participate in planning sessions with the regional team. The trip also provided an opportunity to head to the South West to attend the South West Regional Council, engage with members and attend a site tour at Worsley Alumina. It is always great to meet with members from other regions to understand the challenges and opportunities at play, and how this compares to the North West.
