The Chamber of Minerals and Energy of Western Australia (CME) CEO Paul Everingham has welcomed the appointment of Mike Henry as BHP’s new CEO.
“Mr Henry brings a wealth of experience to the position having worked in a number of high-level roles since joining the company in 2003. The CEO of BHP is one of the most important jobs in corporate Australia because almost a third of Australians have a strong financial interest in BHP through their superannuation funds, and I’m sure he will” said Mr Everingham.
“CME has always had a good working relationship with BHP and we look forward to that continuing into the future.
“I would also like to congratulate outgoing CEO Andrew Mackenzie on the work he has done to transform BHP into a company that has created significant value for its shareholders, employees and a number of regional communities across Western Australia.”
