CME mourns loss of board member Tim Picton

The Chamber of Minerals and Energy WA (CME) is deeply saddened by the passing of board member Tim Picton.

CME Chief Executive Officer Aaron Morey said Mr Picton was remembered foremost for the way he treated people – with integrity, generosity and genuine care for others.

“Tim brought warmth, honesty and thoughtfulness to everything he did, and those qualities were felt well beyond the boardroom,” Mr Morey said.

“During his time on the CME Board, Tim made a significant contribution to the organisation and to the WA resources sector, always guided by a strong sense of responsibility and purpose.

“He will be deeply missed. On behalf of CME, I extend my sincere condolences to Tim’s family, friends and colleagues.”

CME President Tim Day said Mr Picton’s passing was a significant loss for the resources industry.

“Tim’s strategic vision and collaborative approach helped lift the industry and drive real progress,” Mr Day said.

“On top of his many professional achievements, Tim was widely admired for the positive spirit he brought to every interaction. He was an influential leader who inspired those around him.

“Our thoughts are with Tim’s family and loved ones at this extremely difficult time.”
