About

Growing up in Scotland, Lorna supported herself through university working on the production line at a food processing factory before graduating with honours in mathematics, statistics and accounting. She began her career with PwC in Glasgow, rising to Director while living and working across four countries. After relocating to Australia in 2002 she transitioned into the resources sector and started her first FIFO role in the Pilbara, an experience that shaped her understanding of culture, inclusion and wellbeing in remote environments.

Lorna is now General Manager, Engineering Construction at Monadelphous, and a founding member of the company’s Gender D&I Committee. She has led targeted initiatives to increase women’s participation in trade and technical roles, including the award-winning Crane Operations Pathway Program, a first-of-its-kind model providing paid pathways for women and Indigenous people to become qualified crane operators. Her leadership saw female representation rise from 2% to 6%, with over 3,000 hours of accredited training delivered annually. The model has since been adopted in Karratha, Darwin and offshore operations, and she has driven a new Rigging Pathway Program.

Lorna is passionate about supporting women to reach their full potential, creating tailored opportunities and development pathways. Active in NAWO, WIMWA and NAWIC, she regularly shares her experience through panels, mentoring and advocacy for women in operations.
