Mining automotive training council
Established in 2025, the Mining and Automotive Training Council (MATC) is a strategic initiative by the Chamber of Minerals and Energy of Western Australia (CME) aimed at strengthening the skills pipeline for Western Australia’s mining and automotive sectors. As one of eight industry training councils recognised by the WA State Training Board, MATC serves as a vital conduit between industry, government, and training providers to address workforce development challenges and opportunities.
MATC’s primary role is to engage with the sectors it represents to gather intelligence on industry developments, workforce needs, and strategies. This intelligence is utilized to advocate on behalf of the industry and inform policy decisions of the State Training Board and the Department of Training and Workforce Development.
